Safe Water for a Rural Project in Valenzuela, Paraguay

Foundation Emanuele Antola supported a longstanding rural project in the town of Valenzuela, Paraguay, established in 1973. This project, a farm, was facing a critical water supply issue due to an improperly installed pump that led to the collapse and blockage of their artesian well. The farm engages in small-scale agricultural activities, focusing on the organic production of various crops, honey production, and dairy farming. These products are well-received and marketed successfully in Asuncion.

The original water well, equipped with a submersible pump, provided water for drinking and household uses both on the farm and in the surrounding neighborhood. It also supported the farm’s milk production and crop irrigation.

Foundation Emanuele Antola’s funds were pooled to upgrade the water tank and the distribution line. The project required drilling a new 100-meter-deep artesian well and installing the necessary pumping equipment, with a total cost of G 33 million. Initially, $2,500 was raised, but additional funds were needed to complete the project. The costs included digging 80 meters, costing around G 30,000,000 (approximately $4,200), and installing a 10,000-liter water tank, costing $3,000. The total expenditure was $6,200.

We are pleased to report that the project has been successfully completed.
